4 ways to upgrade your ship reactor

The resource of the onboard reactor (power grid, hereinafter referred to as PG) is one of the key parameters that must be taken into account in the ship’s fit. There are enough ships in the game that have limited PG powers, and the pilot needs certain skills, implants, and modules and / or “rigs” to improve the ship’s reactor in EVE Online.

Profile skills to improve PG
You need to pay attention to skills that directly or indirectly affect the PG. These include:

Engineering. A skill that gives an increase of 5% powergrid per level of proficiency. It is highly recommended for maximum pumping (up to 5), since it is universal;
Shield Upgrades. Reduces the requirement for PG modules by 5%, for which the Shield Upgrades skill is required (mainly, we are talking about Shield Extenders). As a general rule, it is recommended to pump for 4+ to improve the reactor of your ship in EVE Online, unless of course you are an ardent adherent of “tanking” with armor (or plating with a “suitcase”);
Advanced Weapon Upgrades – reduces the power consumption of the onboard reactor by weapons by 2%. It is also worth reaching 4 or even 5, since the difference becomes very noticeable in the advanced modules.
Modules and “rigs” to improve the ship’s reactor in EVE Online
Now let’s look at modules that increase the PG of your ship. They are all installed in the bottom slots, which will especially delight shield lovers – the middle slots remain free for protective equipment. However, do not get carried away and use more than 1-2 profile modules, as you will be sacrificing DPS or “tracking”.

Reactor Control Unit II. It costs about 400 thousand ISKs, consumes 20 CPUs, gives an increase of 15% to PG. Definitely an editorial choice;
True Sansha Reactor Control Unit. A fractional body kit, can cost about 15-20 million, requires the same 20 power units of an on-board computer, gives 15.5% PGU. It does not give a very noticeable increase, however, this 0.5% can play a role in the fit of a cruiser, battleship or KBT;
Power Diagnostic System II. It costs about 600 thousand. Increases PG by 5%, power grid capacity by 5%, shield strength by 5%, and onboard battery recharge rate by 8.5%. Requires 20 units of CPU power. If you only need to increase PG slightly, then try installing this module first;
True Sansha Power Diagnostic System – fractional “green” cost of 25-35 million, differs from PDS Tier II in that it gives 2.5% more PG resource (7.5%), the same bonuses to shield, cap, cap recharge (5% , 5%, 8.5% respectively) and requires 25 CPUs.
In addition to modules, rigs can be used to improve the ship’s onboard reactor in EVE Online. Many pilots prefer them to modules because “rigs” provide great bonuses – especially T2 variants. Their advantages include the fact that they do not take away any characteristics. Let’s consider them in more detail:

Medium (Large) Ancillary Current Router I – cost about 5 and 23 million, respectively, give a 10% bonus and require 100 calibration points. Editor’s Choice;
Medium (Large) Ancillary Current Router II – T2 versions of the “rigs” mentioned above cost about 45 and 130 million, give 15% PG, require 150 calibration points. A bit more expensive, but give a significantly better bonus.
